ThreadHaven is an app that I created that encompasses many features related to the clothing industry such as buying and selling clothes and shoes, creating personalized digital mockups for creating outfits, and having a social feed where users can follow their friends, their favorite influencers, and brands. At the moment it is just a conceptual design but I am currently in the process of making it into an app prototype using Figma.
Problem: I assigned myself this project to give myself more experience designing user interfaces, brand identities, and coming up with unique ideas that could become real business propositions.
Solution: I thought of the idea to create an app concept that allowed someone to virtually try on clothes without having to physically go out and try them on in a store. I decided the best way to do this was to use a photo of the user and have the user manually pinpoint various parts of their body so that the app could accurately visualize the clothes on the user. From there I came up with ideas for various screens such as a user’s ‘Fits’ library where they could see all of their created outfits and then decided that it would make sense for the user to be able to buy clothing directly from the app. I decided that StockX integration would make for a good marketplace for users to buy and sell clothing directly within the app. I then realized it would be a good way for users to also compare prices between various sellers on not only StockX but real brick-and-mortar stores as well. From there I conceptualized a UPC scanner function so that users could easily do this and find the best prices for the products they want. I added various screens based on the social aspect where users can follow their favorite fashion influencers, brands, and friends to see what kind of fashion statements and products are trending, I also made various screens based on the exploration aspect of finding many different types of clothes and styles. Before I began officially designing all of these; however, I created a logo that represented the theme of the app revolving around being an all inclusive one-stop-shop for everything one needs to update and enhance their wardrobe.
THE PROCESS
These are sketches, rough drafts, mood boards, and sporadic thoughts that led to the final product.
